Description
At almost 2,000 years old, Verona Arena has a very long history. Dating all the way back to the 1st Century AD and built during the reign of the Roman Empire, this magnificent elliptical shaped structure would have hosted public events such as Gladiator games and mock naval battles. The third largest Roman Amphitheatre in the world, it would have held around 30,000 people in ancient times. When standing within the walls, you can't help but imagine what it must have been like when filled to the brim with excited spectators, the atmosphere electric, the crowd on their feet, shouting and screaming and inconceivably even baying for blood as men tackled wild beasts. What secrets, mysteries and tragedies those stone walls must have witnessed. Arena of Verona Italy has added textures to achieve a painterly style.

Beautiful example of an old Roman Arena from almost 2 thousand years ago - think of the history that this place has seen!
